« Odylus welcomes artist Cynthia Montier for a new residency, in this very particular context of COVID-19. She is setting up a system of conversations and daily interactions around the abstract and familiar meaning that the word « magic » can have.
Magic can be understood as a form given to intuitive knowledge and charged by collective or individual beliefs: a means of acting on the material world through both popular and singular rituals.

From the lockdown, the artist proposes a space for listening, speaking and acting to take a symbolic and numerical position halfway between intimate and public space.
Objects, rituals, traditions, beliefs; writing exercises, sharing of stories, invented walks, deferred readings; remote interviews give rise to discreet forms that combine speech and gesture from inside the city, opening them up to other possible interpretations.

The thread of these exchanges draws a collective and performative tarot that will take shape after the age of forty, to combine the force of intuition and projection that covers magic as a belief, art as a lever, and the use of fortune-telling as a support for collective reading, discussion and transmission. »
