Ritual of Hopscotch is a protocol of online collective and domestic ritual that experiments with the notion of esoteric-geography – the apprehension of geography as a two-dimensional space: both virtual and esoteric. From the GPS trace of their travels the artist duo creates a sigil (cabalistic seal and magical signature); the sigilic path is transferred to a 1:1 scale in a hopscotch drawing and then transferred to Google Street View. Each member of the collective ritual is invited to collect a stone image in his or her domestic space to charge it with a symbolic intention before depositing it on the geolocalized hopscotch hosted by artist Bérénice Serras’ Résidence project.

Ritual of Hopscotch est un protocole de rituel collectif et domestique en ligne qui expérimente la notion d’ésotérico-geographie soit l’appréhension de la géographie comme un espace à double dimension : à la fois virtuel et ésotérique. À partir du tracé GPS de leurs déplacements le duo d’artiste réalise un sigil (sceau cabalistique et signature magique) ; le chemin sigillique est reporté à l’échelle 1:1 en un dessin de marelle à la farine puis transféré sur Google Street View. Chaque membre du rituel collectif est invité à récolter une image de pierre dans son espace domestique pour la charger d’une intention symbolique avant de la déposer sur la marelle géolocalisée hébergée au sein du projet Résidence de l’artiste Bérénice Serra.
